I had to take a leave from work to take care of my mom after she got diagnosed with cancer back in December. I wasn't too excited about this year at first but more and more gets revealed. If they release Forspoken in october as they mentioned and FF16 a few months to maybe a little over half a year later, that won't be a problem for either of them.

both are made by 2 different internal teams at S-E so it's not like 1 being delayed will impact the other in any way possible.

If they've taken notes from Capcom and Crystal Dynamics on how to remake classic games THE RIGHT WAY, we wouldn't be here waiting forever for each part. The other misstep is the amount of ''episodes'' this whole ''remake'' will take to retell the story. Because of the former's departure, Square-Enix are now releasing each ''episode'' in increments of 5-ish years while with CC2's help, they could have released each part in much less time.

The biggest twist of irony is how they ditched CyberConenct2, a studio well known for making episodic games the RIGHT WAY, in favor of restarting fresh internally and the result is this giant mess of an episodic ''remake'' with one of the most impactful JRPGs in the industry. They already butchered FF13 when they introduced time travel in 13-2 and now they've done it again with 7R as a means to make it a ''sequel''? This is just Tetsuya Nomura and Kazushige Nojima dropping a huge steaming dump on the original game's legacy and existence. Also, the idea that FF7R is a ''sequel'' to the OG game is utter bullshit as it pretty much retcons Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus, which need I remind everyone again are the TRUE sequels to FF7. Did we REALLY need an ENTIRE game focusing on remaking the what beginning 5-ish hours of FF7? Not really, that first part alone could (read SHOULD) have been the equivalent of Disc 1 of the OG game. To be brutally honest, FF7 didn't really need to be expanded THAT much, it just needed a new coat of paint, keep the combat system turn-based like the OG version, and add what was originally cut. I never understood the need to remake FF7 episodically cause honestly this new-ish version is pretty much a narrative mess in terms of the whole Compilation of FF7 conglomerate.
